Seasonal Yoga
Developed to address the imbalance between nature and our modern day lifestyles, Seasonal Yoga blends the wisdom of two ancient philosophies; Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine, to create a complete holistic system of movement, dietary advice and lifestyle habits that help us regain our connection and alignment with nature.
According to Traditional Chinese Medicine philosophy, there are five seasons – Spring, Summer, Late Summer, Autumn and Winter. Each season is associated with an element (wood, fire, earth, metal, water) and corresponding energy channels (meridians) and organs of the body.
Class content changes and evolves throughout the year in order to support the body and the active organs according to the season.
The practice includes Hatha and Vinyasa Flow styles of yoga, qi gong movements, pranayama (conscious breathing) and relaxation suitable for the particular season we are in.
